Some cities are simply blessed with their position by the sea. Unlike smaller places, in cities there are more events, and urban life for some tourists is more appropriate than seaside resorts. Some people love peaceful and quiet places and robinson tourism, other people love the towns and events that take place in the summer with some swimming in beetween.

Which are the most beautiful city beaches in Croatia?

Pula – Gortanova uvala is a beautiful family beach along the promenade. It is surrounded by dense pine trees. Small pebbles make it comfortable to swim. In addition, popular beach is Valkane next to Hotel Pula and beaches in the area of ​​Verudela Histria and Ambrela.

Opatija – Slatina is a bathing resort in the very center of the city surrounded by Austro-Hungarian hotels and is very popular among our northern neighbors. It is paved and has easy access to the sea. Around the beach there are numerous restaurants and bars and various entertainment facilities.

Rijeka – Kantrida (Ploče) Many don’t see Rijeka as a holiday town, but there are beautiful beaches on the outskirts of the city. One of them is Kantrida near the very bottom of the Kvarner Bay. Some time ago the beach was decorated and now without exaggeration we can say that it reminds of beaches from France or Spain. Above the beach there are pools with sea water. No less beautiful are the beaches on the eastern side of the town – Pećine Brajdica, Sablićevo, Glavanovo and Grčevo.

Zadar – Kolovare is the most famous town beach south of the city center. It’s about two kilometers long. It’s partly paved. You can rent everything you need for a comfortable stay. In the background there is a pine forest that offers plenty of natural shade. On the other side of the town are the beaches Borik and Diklo which are very popular among tourists.

Šibenik – Banj is a true town beach where both domestic and tourist population enjoy. In addition to the clean sea there is also a nice view of the city. The pebble beach is good for families with children because there are facilities for sports activities and entertainment. The beach was fixed up during the winter months and is very neat and clean. The sandy beach of Amadria in Solaris is a bit further.

Split – Bačvice is a cult place in the lives of domestic population, as well as their guests. The best known is for picigin, a unique game with a small ball in the shallow sea. Every year there is the  “World Championship in Picigin”. The beach is partly sandy, with a paved promenade with various restaurants and entertainment facilities. Below is a well-organized beach Trstenik. On the other side of the town are Kaštelet, Bene and Kašljuni at the foot of Marjan hill.

Dubrovnik – Banje is the most famous beach in Dubrovnik known for its numerous selfies and photographs which are taken there. It is in the immediate vicinity of the old town center. On the beach, though not cheap, you can rent deck chairs and everything you need for a comfortable stay. The view of the island of Lokrum and the city walls attracts tourists from all over the world. Next to it is the beach Sveti Jakov. On Lapad there is the popular beach of Copacabana and also many smaller beaches along the promenade.
